Weekend Workshops

We think you'll love our WEEKEND WORKSHOPS on multiple levels.

Take a full weekend unplugged, in nature, and practicing creativity, and what do you get…a wave of inspiration and refreshment!

Hosted by Brandon or Kirsten, these 2 night weekend workshops (or mini retreats) invite you to get away from it all and dive deep into learning and connecting through a theme that stems from one of their core passions and areas of expertise. All WEEKEND WORKSHOPS are held at O Refúgio retreat center and farm in Northern Portugal and are for English speakers. Each workshop are all inclusive (see details below).

See our 2024 WEEKEND WORKSHOPS and more details below.

PRINT+NATURE

June 14-16

Join a weekend of creativity inspired by creation. Take a block printing workshop that includes carving a block and printing a tote bag. Learn to make monoprints from flowers and other nature items gathered from the farm. Rekindle a sense of awe and wonder through the practice of mindfulness, nature walks/journaling, and guided reflections inspired by the Psalms that celebrate creation.

Hosted by Kirsten with special local guest/expert in block printing.

SILENCE+BEAUTY

November 22-24

Come away for a weekend of restoration and reflection through guided daily liturgies that center on the intersection of contemplative prayer and creation care. Unplug, practice silence, and experience wonder through the beauty and presence of God in nature and being still.

This workshop focuses on mindfulness, movement, and meditation from a Christian perspective that follows traditional monastic rhythms. Hosted by Kirsten and Brandon.

SCRIPT+STORY

Oct 18-20

If you’ve ever wanted to learn how to craft your own great idea for a movie or just want to better understand the art of screenplay storytelling — Brandon’s SCRIPT + STORY Workshop is a great way to learn the essentials of developing a compelling film.

As writer of multiple screenplays that have been made into films, he helps you uncover the power of story as translated for the moving image.

Enjoy time to focus, dream, and exercise your creative side.
